Justice-centeredness and spreading justice are the main level of decent governance, which has been discussed by many religious leaders and schools of thought and human societies. Imam Ali (a.s.), as the founder of the school of Shiism, and Confucius, as the poineer of Confucian philosophy in ancient China, considered justice to be the main secret of governance and survival of the system, and underlined its importance. This research tries to compare the views of Imam Ali (a.s.) and Confucius about justice and its expansion methods by using the qualitative method and using the available documentary sources. According to the research model, their points of view were carefully analyzed in 5 semantic, political, social, ethical and strategic fields. From the similarities of he schools with respect to justice, we can note the principles of nature of justice, good governance, survival and preservation of the system, meritocracy, and equality. The comparative analysis shows that their common strategy is to train educated rulers and students for the growth and expansion of justice in the society. One of their differences is the humanist attitude of Confucius and the theistic attitude of Imam towards justice. The source of Confucian justice is the tradition and experience of the past, and the source of Imam Ali's justice is the Qur'an and the prophetic tradition.
