Undoubtedly, Ameer al-Momineen's speeches about divine teachings are among the strongest and most excellent. In a paragraph from Letter 31 of Nahj al-Balagha to Imam Hassan Mojtaba, he says: "if there had been a partner with your Lord, his messengers too should have come to you and you would have seen signs of his authority and power and you should have known his deeds and qualities." In our opinion, this statement proves the monotheism of Lord. In fact, with a conditional proposition that consists of one condition and three consequents, he wants to invalidate the antecedent by invalidating the three consequents. Since in the exceptive syllogism, the connection between the antecedent and the consequent must always be proved, then if the antecedent is rejected by rejecting the consequent, it is necessary to prove nullity of the consequent. This article is an attempt to explain the connection and proving nullity of the three consequents. It is clear that the existence of the connection between the antecedent and the consequent in the exceptive syllogism and proving nullity of its consequent shows that it is a demonstration. However, Ibn Maitham Bahrani considered the mentioned phrase to be a rhetorical proof of Lord's monotheism. In this article, after explaining those two important issues, we have explained Ibn Maitham's speech and criticized it.
