Infallibility of prophets is one of the theological beliefs of Muslims. In addition to benefiting from reason, the aforementioned belief has an important place in the Qur'an and Hadith. Following the Qur'an and Hadith, Shiites have given great importance to this issue in their research works. In this article, we try to examine and compare the infallibility of the prophets in hadith and theology, relying on the views of Ayatollah Misbah Yazdi and Fakhr Razi and present the results in the form of a summary. Since there are many debates about infallibility from a hadith-theological point of view, and it is not possible to deal with all of them in a short article like this, I will deal only with the three central discussions of infallibility, i.e., the nature, scope, and evidence of infallibility from the point of view of these aformentioned scholars, who have theological and hadith concerns. Based on this article, which has used an analytical-descriptive methodology, the views of these two scholars have similarities and differences in these three important topics. While from the point of view of Ayatollah Misbah, infallibility is a personal characteristic that causes the infallible to voluntarily abandon any type of sin throughout life, and he proves this theory with the help of reason and narration, Fakhr-Razi considers infallibility to be a kind of divine grace that causes the infallible to leave intentional sins during the prophethood period, and he proves this claim only with narrations. Using narrations without resorting to rational reasons, Fakhr faces the challenge of the vicious circle whether he likes it or not.
