The reality of the “chair” mentioned in the noble verse “And His chair extends over the heavens and the earth” (Al-Baqarah 2:255) has become a complex issue, and numerous hadiths have been narrated about its meaning. The narration of Hanan ibn Sudair Sairfi from Imam Sadiq (a.s.) explicitly spoke about the chair, paving the way for a more precise understanding of it. With this support, religious thinkers, including commentators and theologians, have examined and searched for this matter. The present study, using library resources and an analytical method, examined the hadith of Hanan ibn Sudair and studied it from a theological perspective. The purpose of this study is to analyze the true concept of the chair, considering the need to understand it in the field of cosmology, theology, and divine knowledge, in order to provide a clear answer to some ambiguities such as the thought of similes and statues. A theological study of the hadith of Hanan ibn Sudair from Imam Sadiq (a.s.) shows that in the thought of the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.), the Kursi is not a physical entity, but an independent reality, one of the unseen realities, at the level of the abstract worlds, and what is meant by the reality of the Kursi is the station of divine knowledge.
