Abstract

The marriage and polygamy of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) are issues of concern in the Holy Quran and Islam. Verses 50-52 of Surah Al-Ahzab are also in this regard. The first address in these verses is addressed to the Holy Prophet (PBUH). This has led some to see these verses as a benefit for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and an advantage for women to have more freedom, and even, citing a narration about the reason for the revelation of the verse, they mockingly raise the suspicion that the verse was fabricated by the Prophet (PBUH). Now, it is necessary to clarify who is meant in these verses and what matters are intended? An article that has addressed the mentioned verses with this issue and approach was not considered. This research aims to achieve the aforementioned goal by using a descriptive-analytical method and especially by using the proportionality of the verses and some topics of the Quranic sciences. This article shows that the original meaning of the three verses is Muslims (men and women) and their duty towards marriage with the Prophet (PBUH) is stated, and it restricts people in this matter in a way and prevents them from causing the Messenger of God (PBUH) difficulty and embarrassment.
